Strategic Plan Overview

Purpose:

The Polk County Public Schools (PCPS) Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap for how the district will support students, families, staff, and community. Beginning in 2022, input from stakeholders was gathered and summarized to set the direction of the strategic planning process through 2027. The strategic plan for PCPS represents the district’s priorities for continuous improvement, while ensuring transparency and accountability. The mission of PCPS is to provide a high-quality education for all students, we are student-centered with all decisions focusing on the students and families we serve. This strategic plan builds on systems within the district while continuing to focus on each student’s unique learning path. The purpose of the strategic plan is to outline a system in which all stakeholders feel respected, valued, and supported while working together toward one singular goal: Graduation.

Overview:

PCPS has identified five goals that exemplify the future of our district. As a district, we are fully committed to these goals, the implementation of the plan that supports them, and the outcomes developed to measure progress towards them. The District Advisory Committee (DAC) and various subcommittees will help ensure progress towards district goals occurs through monitoring the strategic plan which will reflect quarterly data check-in points. As a district, we recognize we cannot address everything at once due to resource availability, but we can be purposeful and targeted in our progress towards goal attainment.

PCPS’s Strategic Plan focuses on five-goals:

  • Goal 1: Student Outcomes
  • Goal 2: Develop Great Teachers and Leaders
  • Goal 3: Engage Family and Community
  • Goal 4: Equitable and Efficient use of Resources
  • Goal 5: Develop the Whole Child
